The artist acknowledges Sxwayum as the original name of the Millstone River. Located on the ancestral territories of the Snuneymuxw First Nation, Sxwayum is the traditional name of the river in Hul’q’umi’num’. It is a waterway that has been stewarded by the people of Snuneymuxw since time immemorial.
